Megan Maltos is a tap dancer, choreographer, and producer known for her innovative style, captivating performances, and entertaining original content. Now entering her third decade in the dance industry, Megan has dedicated her career to elevating the art of tap through education and by inspiring a love for the form in the next generation.
A graduate of the University of Arizona, Megan has performed on some of the most renowned stages in the country, showcasing her talent in a variety of settings—from intimate theaters to large-scale productions and festivals. Her work has earned numerous accolades, including national competition awards and recognition from esteemed dance organizations. Her choreography blends traditional tap techniques with contemporary influences, creating dynamic routines that resonate with modern audiences.
Megan is passionate about education and has taught at tap festivals across the U.S., including the St. Louis Tap Festival, Big Apple Tap Festival, and Phoenix Tap Fest. One of her proudest achievements is continuing the tap legacy in Tucson, Arizona, started over 50 years ago by her mentor, Frank Trent. At her studio, Danswest Dance, she trains tap dancers of all ages—from their very first steps onward.
With a deep commitment to excellence and an enduring love for her craft, Megan is devoted to passing on the knowledge and inspiration she has received from the many teachers who shaped her journey. She is especially grateful for the opportunity to connect with even more tap dancers at the Arizona Jazz Dance Festival—an event she first attended as a student in the mid-1990s.
