*NEW FOR 2025 *— Registration Overview

Registration for the 2025 Arizona Jazz Dance Showcase is now hosted through Trellis, the University of Arizona’s official event platform. This new system offers a smoother experience, but it does require a few important steps to get started.

What to Expect:

      • Step 1: AJDS Ticket Representative Registration
All registrations begin by selecting a Ticket Representative—this must be an adult (18+) who will serve as the primary contact for your registration. The Ticket Representative can be a parent/guardian, studio representative, or dancer over 18, and must be present on-site during the event.

      • Step 2: Select Dancer Tickets
After completing the Ticket Representative registration, you will unlock access to register up to 25 dancers per ticket type. You’ll choose between a standard Dancer Registration or a Dancer Registration + Scholarship Class, which includes access to our special Friday Scholarship Class featuring opportunities from partners like Tremaine, Revel, and Perry-Mansfield.

      • Step 3: Add Observer Bands (Optional)
Families and guests can purchase Observer Bands to attend performances and observe classes (excluding the Scholarship Class). To purchase an Observer Band, you will still begin by selecting a Ticket Representative, then complete the Observer Band section during registration.

Additional Info:

You’ll need basic contact information for each participant, and payment is required at the time of registration.
If you’re registering more than 25 dancers in one ticket type, you’ll need to complete a second registration.

Scholarship Class

The Scholarship Class is a valuable opportunity for participants to practice auditioning in a supportive, real-world setting.

With over $50,000 in scholarships awarded annually—including summer intensives, national conventions, cash prizes, and more—this enjoyable challenge offers real rewards for stepping up.

*NEW FOR 2025* This growing event will now be hosted in a larger space to enhance the experience for all participants.

Take the chance. Put yourself out there. You never know where it might lead.

BFA Candidates: If you’re participating in the BFA University Audition, which takes place during the Scholarship Class, and would like to be considered for external scholarship awards (such as summer intensives, convention scholarships, and cash prizes), an additional $30 scholarship fee is required.

This evaluation is separate from merit-based scholarship consideration for admission to the University of Arizona. Your eligibility for external awards will be based on your Jazz score from the University Audition.

School of Dance University Audition

High school seniors and transfer students interested in majoring in dance at the University of Arizona are invited to audition during the Arizona Jazz Dance Showcase on Friday, September 19.

Please note: BFA Audition registration is separate from AJDS registration and opens August 1. During AJDS registration, pending your age, you may be prompted to signal if you plan to attend the national audition.

The audition will include a range of technical styles, with a Q&A session on Saturday for dancers and their families.

Spots are limited, and receiving a waiver or invitation does not guarantee a space.

Be sure to complete all requirements before attending.

Multimedia Release Form

Each participant (including registrants and observers) must review the AJDS Code of Conduct and complete a Multimedia Release Form.

Multimedia Release Forms must be submitted during check-in upon pick-up of folders.

AJDS Code of Conduct

The Arizona Jazz Dance Showcase (AJDS), now in its third decade, encourages all participants to act with dignity and respect during this three day event hosted by the UA School of Dance.  In upholding the ideals of dance as an art form, our resident and guest faculty and staff expect all who attend to exhibit behavior appropriate to the studio or stage:  focused attention, proper attire, and a work ethic fitting to the educational purpose of the workshop.

We expect attendees to demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of their participation in AJDS including but not limited to classes, performances, and social media activity.  We desire a wholesome atmosphere as we provide a professional environment in which to learn, create and enjoy.

Breaking this code of conduct will result in suspension of activities or expulsion from the event.
