Interested high school seniors & transfer students can take advantage of the UArizona Dance Program Audition for dancers interested in majoring in dance at the University of Arizona. This is one of the UAZ School of Dance’s three national auditions held each year for the following year’s prospective incoming class. This audition is not the scholarship class.
The audition includes a range of technical styles and will be followed by a Q&A with faculty advisers for dancers and their parents. Please note the requirements that must be fulfilled BEFORE this on-campus audition.
Audition Application Instructions
- Sign up for the audition through your AJDS registration
- Complete the University of Arizona application using the UA Future Portal or Common App
- Auditioners will receive audition numbers upon check-in on Friday, September 27th.
- It is highly recommended that you submit your UAZ Dance application prior to the AJDS audition.
- Dancers have two opportunities to audition for UAZ Dance. If you participate in the audition but do not complete the application process, the audition is still considered one of two audition opportunities having been taken. The outcome of your audition will be the decision letter issued after your UA Dance application has been considered by the faulty review committee.
- Auditions are for first year and transfer students for the fall 2025 term ONLY.
- Your decision letter will be sent to you with the outcome of your audition after your completed UA Dance Application and audition performance have been reviewed by the faculty committee.
*Fee to audition/apply to the UA Dance program is $60, paid at the time the application is submitted, and is not covered as part of the AJDS 2024 registration fee.
